Who we are

Farscope is a mobile application built and operated by an independent developer based in Helsinki, Finland. We are the data controller for the personal data collected through this website.

What data we collect and why

This website collects your email address if you choose to join our waitlist. When you submit the waitlist form, Farscope also detects your approximate country from the signup request so we can manage beta availability and prioritize launch-region invitations.

We collect this waitlist information for the following specific purposes:

• To notify you when Farscope launches and becomes available for download
• To inform you about your early access pricing and any relevant product updates before launch
• To prioritize beta invitations by launch region and understand where people are interested in Farscope

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or behavioral profiling. We do not ask for your name, precise location, or device information. We do not store your IP address in our waitlist records. The detected country is used only for beta availability and launch-region invitation planning.

Legal basis for processing

We process your waitlist information on the basis of your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). By submitting your email address through our waitlist form, you are giving us your free, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent to contact you with launch updates about Farscope and to use your approximate country/region for beta availability planning.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send you, or by emailing us at privacy@farscope.app. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before the withdrawal.

Who processes your data

Your email address, detected country code, region, launch tier, and invite eligibility status are stored and processed by Brevo (formerly Sendinblue), an email marketing platform operated by Sendinblue SAS, 55 rue d'Amsterdam, 75008 Paris, France. Brevo acts as a data processor on our behalf under a data processing agreement that meets GDPR requirements. Brevo stores data on EU-based infrastructure.

We also use Cloudflare Turnstile to protect our waitlist form from automated bot submissions. Turnstile performs a background security check when you load the form. Cloudflare may process limited technical signals (browser attributes, interaction patterns) to determine whether you are a human visitor. No personal data collected through Turnstile is stored by us or used for any purpose other than bot protection. You can read Cloudflare's privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties. We do not use your email address for advertising or profiling purposes.

How long we keep your data

We will keep your waitlist information until one of the following occurs:

• You unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data
• Farscope launches and the waitlist purpose is fulfilled, at which point we will delete the list or give you a clear opportunity to opt in to ongoing communications
• We decide not to launch Farscope, in which case we will delete all waitlist data and notify you

We will not keep your waitlist information for longer than is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

Your rights under GDPR

As a resident of the EU or EEA, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of access — you can ask us what personal data we hold about you
• Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Right to erasure — you can ask us to delete your data at any time
• Right to restriction — you can ask us to stop processing your data while keeping it stored
• Right to data portability — you can ask us to provide your data in a machine-readable format
• Right to withdraw consent — you can withdraw your consent to processing at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing
• Right to object — you can object to processing based on legitimate interests

Cookies

This website does not use cookies for analytics, advertising, or tracking purposes. No cookie consent banner is required or displayed.

Cloudflare Turnstile may use strictly necessary browser-level signals as part of its bot detection process. These are not cookies used for tracking or advertising.

Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. Our website uses HTTPS encryption, bot protection via Cloudflare Turnstile, and your waitlist information is stored on Brevo's EU-based infrastructure under industry-standard security practices.

In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman within 72 hours and, where required, notify you directly.

Supervisory authority

If you believe we have handled your personal data incorrectly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (Tietosuojavaltuutetun toimisto):

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify waitlist subscribers by email. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
